Robert W. Spencer
Robert W. Spencer was educated at
Princeton University (Woodrow Wilson School
of Public and International Affairs) and
Columbia University Law School (as a Harlan
Fiske Stone Scholar). He has been practicing
law for then 40 years, concentrating in
estate planning, elder law, real estate,
business transactions, tax and bankruptcy
law. He is Of Counsel to the Firm.
Mr. Spencer initially was employed as a
tax associate by Carter, Ledyard & Milburn.
He was then employed as a corporate
associate by Stryker, Tams & Dill; as
Assistant General Counsel and Assistant
Secretary of Dictaphone Corporation; as Vice
President, Secretary and General Counsel of
Olivetti Corporation; and as a partner in
several law firms located in Tarrytown, New
York.
Among his many community activities he
has served on the are Board of Trustees of
the Union Free School District of the
Tarrytowns (2 years as President and 2 years
as Vice President); the Board of Directors
of Phelps Memorial Hospital Center;
Secretary-Treasurer and Chairman of the
Finance Committee of Kendal-on-Hudson; the
Board of Directors of the Family YMCA of the
Tarrytowns (recipient of the Patterson Award
for distinguished service); the Supervisory
Committee of Unistar Federal Credit Union;
Board of Directors of the Tarrytown
Volunteer Ambulance Corps; the Rotary Club
of the Tarrytowns (recipient of the Paul
Harris Award for service); Acting Village
Justice of the Village of Tarrytown (8
years) and President of the Sleepy Hollow
Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Spencer and his wife, Carolyn, were
honored by the Rotary Club of the Tarrytowns
as Citizens of the Year for their many years
of community service. |
