Steven T. Sledzik graduated from
Georgetown University in 1984 and from
Georgetown’s Law Center in 1990. He was

Connecticut in 1990. He was admitted to the
New York Bar in 1992, as well as the Federal
Courts for each jurisdiction. He is also

Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Mr. Sledzik practiced at a private
Connecticut firm for several years after his

Westchester County Attorney’s office as an
Assistant County Attorney. After eighteen
months with the County, Mr. Sledzik was
promoted to a Senior Assistant County
Attorney. During his tenure with Westchester
County, he litigated a broad array of
municipal matters. His experience includes
Americans with Disability Act litigation;
equal protection challenges; Title VII
litigation, including race and pregnancy
discrimination; free speech in the
employment context; and substantive and
procedural due process disputes;
environmental; and Article 78 proceedings.
He is particularly well-versed in federal
court litigation. He also headed the
Westchester County legal team responsible
for defending various challenges to the
County’s downsizing reduction in force
policies.
Thereafter, Mr. Sledzik spent more than
four years in private practice with two
Manhattan insurance defense firms, where he
litigated a broad range of municipal and
school district disputes – often for
insurers who had written public officer’s
policies. On behalf of public and private
entities, he defended suits involving
personal injury claims including several
wrongful death and lost limb cases. He also
defended state whistle blower statutes, the
Americans with Disability Act, Title VII
litigation, including race and gender
discrimination and sexual harassment, and
many civil rights cases involving claims of
discriminatory treatment. In addition, he
advised clients in both private practice and
public service as to both the Americans with
Disability Act and the Age Discrimination
Employment Act.
In addition to the above, Mr. Sledzik has
a wide range of experience in litigation,
including trials, appeals and mediations. He
also represents clients with respect to
insurance coverage disputes and represents
real estate agents and other professionals.
Mr. Sledzik serves as a Hearing Officer
with Westchester County and Westchester
County Medical Center to preside over
administrative hearings for employment
disputes under collective bargaining
agreements. He also serves on the Board of
Directors and is President of the non-profit

Productions, and has provided pro bono
services for New York City’s Volunteer
Lawyers for the Arts. |
